Thank you for agreeing to present a Pediatric Grand Rounds lecture this academic year. To plan our program in a timely manner and in accordance with ACCME requirements, you will be sent a Lecture Use Authorization, Financial Disclosure and Attestation form to read, sign and send back to our attention.

In addition to signed forms, our office does require the following materials six weeks before your lecture:
  • Photograph and CV (degrees, official title(s) and faculty appointment)
  • Title of presentation
  • Three lecture objectives
  • Three multiple-choice questions and answers
  • Two Bibliographic sources for further study
  • Cell phone number (if needed day of)
It is important to note that lecture objectives should use active verbs to express measurable changes to performance, knowledge, or patient outcome that attendees may expect to learn from the program. Use descriptive words like “define, identify, list, describe, classify, explain, and discuss”. Avoid using words and phrases like “understand, recognize, improve, and become familiar with”.
Please plan the speaking portion of your lecture to last for 45 minutes. This will allow for 15 minutes of question and answer. Based on feedback from staff, faculty and community pediatricians, we encourage your presentation to be evidence-based and use case studies whenever possible.
Your PowerPoint presentation should be sent no later than one week before your lecture. To avoid technical issues, your presentation will be loaded onto our AV equipment in lieu of supporting personal laptops. Handouts of your presentation will be printed and distributed to attendees. Please advise if you are not planning to use PowerPoint, or if any slides should be withheld (i.e.: non-published data).
Your lecture is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. in Gilman Auditorium. The auditorium is located in the Conklin Building at 80 Seymour Street between Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and Hartford Hospital’s Emergency entrance. Enter the Conklin Building and take the elevators down to the Ground Floor. The Gilman Auditorium entrance is located next to the elevators.

That morning, we encourage you to arrive by 7:30 a.m. to enjoy refreshments at our “Breakfast with the Chair” event.
In addition to Dr. Juan Salazar, a variety of Executive Management Team guests, Connecticut Children’s physicians, and community pediatricians may also be in attendance.
We thank you for your timely submissions, and look forward to partnering with you on the program. Should you have any questions related to your Pediatric Grand Rounds lecture, please contact Liz Anderson at 860.837.6264 or
